App and codename pick of the week: Project Monarch

Project Monarch, a k a One Outlook, was expected to debut outside Microsoft (starting with Insider testers) last year. That didn’t happen, but it’s still coming. Right now, it’s being dogfooded fairly heavily inside Microsoft. This spring: Expect to see and hear more about it. When will it come to Windows 11? I’m guessing it’ll be a slow rollout, but likely starting in the October 2022/H2 release.

Enterprise pick of the week: Out of band Win Server and Win 10 Enterprise updates

If you’ve been having Remote Desktop issues with your Win Server, these out-of-band patches might help.  They are also for Enterprise LTSC Windows 10 versions.

Jack’s Abby in Framingham, Mass., continues to make all kinds of variants of its flagship Framinghammer baltic porter. It’s been doing a bunch of bourbon barrel aged ones this holiday season, including a Salted Caramel Barrel Aged Framinghammer. It’s just what it sounds like: chocolately and caramely (and only a bit salty). Beware: 12%.
