Microsoft Releases .NET 7 Release Candidate 1
Today, Microsoft announced the release of .NET 7 Release Candidate 1, the first of two release candidates before the final release. It is supported in production environments and can be used on Windows with Visual Studio 17.4 Preview 2.
Core themes in this release include:
.NET MAUI. The .NET Multi-platform App UI (MAUI) replaces Xamarin.Forms and lets developers target Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows from a single codebase. For .NET 7, Microsoft is improving how MAUI works with Windows, in particular.
ARM64. .NET 7 will deliver impressive performance improvements on Windows on Arm, and Microsoft says its goal is to achieve performance parity with x64. (.NET 7 improves performance on x64 as well.)
Modernization. The .NET Upgrade Assistant will help you modernize your .NET applications while upgrading them to .NET 7.

The final release is expected in November and should be released concurrently with .NET Conf 2022.
