Microsoft wrapped up its Xbox Games Showcase today with a new version of its Xbox Series S console with more storage. The new Xbox Series S Carbon Black will offer 1TB of storage compared to 512GB on the white model, and it will be available for pre-order later today at $349.

“The bold Carbon Black color is the same sleek, modern matte finish as Xbox Series X and the Xbox Wireless Controller.  This console features the same next-gen speed and performance of our 512GB Series S, now with double the storage so you can download even more of your favorite games to your console where they’ll be ready to play when you are, the Xbox team explained today.

Even at $349, the new Xbox Series S Carbon Black remains the cheapest current-gen console on the market, and the additional storage should really help with the growing number of games taking 100GB or more of storage. The white Xbox Series S, which remains available at $299, actually just comes with 364GB of usable storage, which really isn’t much compared to the 802GB of storage available on the Series X.

The Xbox Series S still supports storage expansion cards from Seagate and as well as Western Digital. These storage expansion cards start at $79.99 for the 500GB card from Western Digital, and 1TB models are priced at $149.99.

The Carbon Black Xbox Series S will start shipping on September 1, which will be just a couple of days ahead of the release of the Xbox-exclusive game Starfield on September 6. Microsoft also revealed during its Xbox Games Showcase that Forza Motorsport will be released on October 10.
