Apple will soon make battery replacements for iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks that are out of warranty slightly more expensive. Starting in March 2023, replacing batteries for these Apple devices will cost you between $20 to $50 more than before.

The price increases have been recently spotted by Reddit users (via Techcrunch). Here’s what you can expect starting on March 1, 2023:

• iPhone 13 or older model with Face ID: $89 (currently $69)
• iPhone SE or older model with Touch ID: $69 (currently $49)
•  iPad Pro 12.9” (5th generation and prior), iPad Pro 11” (3rd generation and prior), iPad Pro 10.5”, iPad Pro 9.7”, iPad mini (6th generation and prior), and iPad Air (5th generation and prior) : $119 (currently $99)
• All MacBook Air models: $159 (currently $129)
• All MacBook Pro models: $249 (currently $199)

If your iPhone, iPad, or MacBook needs a battery replacement soon, you’ll probably want to do it before March 2023. Replacing your battery can be done at an Apple Store or authorized resellers, but you can mail your product directly to Apple if you can’t use the previous options. If you pay for an AppleCare+ subscription, however, the company says on its repair pages that “your battery can be replaced at no charge if we test your product and its battery retains less than 80% of its original capacity.”

Lastly, if you’d rather not pay more for a battery replacement through Apple after March 2023, you’ll still have the option to use the company’s self-service repair store. As of this writing, though, Apple has yet to specify if it will make these repair parts more expensive in two months.
