White Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller Shows Up on Amazon
A new white version of Microsoft’s Xbox Elite Series 2 controller has briefly appeared on Amazon Mexico. The now-deleted store listing, spotted by Twitter user GermanMorenoO and shared by Windows Central had an official marketing image and a September 21 release date. However, the latter may well be just a placeholder.
With its white face and black rubberized grips, the controller in this image pretty much looks like the one that appeared in an unboxing video published last month. Microsoft has a certain affinity for the white color, having previously released a white version of the original Xbox Elite Controller. The Xbox Series S is also Microsoft’s latest white console, and it comes with a matching white Xbox controller.
Microsoft’s Xbox Elite Series 2 controller was originally released in November 2019. In addition to the new paddle shapes, adjustable-tension thumbsticks, shorter hair trigger locks, it was also the first Xbox controller to come with a built-in battery and a USB-C port for charging. Microsoft also included a carrying case with a built-in charger.
It probably won’t be long before Microsoft officially announces this new white Xbox Elite Series 2 controller. In the meantime, Sony unveiled a DualSense Edge controller for the PlayStation 5 earlier this week which will replicate most of the features offered by Microsoft’s Elite controller. Sony has yet to share a release date and pricing details for this new DualSense Edge controller, though.
