YouTube TV has introduced a cheaper option to pay for entertainment networks à la carte. Instead of subscribing to the base $64.99 plan with 85 channels, US customers can now pay individually for more than 20 add-on channels including HBO Max, Showtime, Starz, MLB.tv, NBA League Pass, and more.

As reported by TechCrunch, customers who switch to this new add-on only plan can pick up the channels they want to watch and get rid of them at any time via the YouTube TV interface. Moreover, this new plan still provides access to Unlimited DVR, with three simultaneous streams and six different accounts in the same household.

YouTube TV is pretty great value for US consumers with a broad selection of live TV from 100+ broadcast, cable, and regional sports networks. There was already a cheaper $34.99/month Spanish plan with a selection of 28+ Spanish networks, but the new selection of add-on channels should help to make the service more appealing to cord-cutters.

Other video platforms such as Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and Roku already let their users subscribe to different channels and access their content via a single interface, so it was time for YouTube TV to catch up. The service also added support for 5.1 surround sound on Apple TV and Fire TV devices earlier this month.
