Xbox Cloud Gaming Gets Improved Performance on iPhone and iPads
Microsoft has improved how Xbox Cloud Gaming performs on iPhones and iPads. Due to Apple’s restrictive App Store policies, Microsoft’s cloud gaming service is only available on iOS devices via the web instead of a native app, and this web-based experience should now run better than before.
“You asked for a better iOS experience, and as a result, we have brought major performance improvements to all supported iPhone and iPad devices. With these updates, you should have a smoother and more responsive gameplay experience,” the Xbox team explained.
It’s not exactly clear when Microsoft implemented these Xbox Cloud Gaming changes on iPhones and iPads, but the company says that it has already seen “a significant increase in positive player feedback.” Moreover, the software giant observed 35% longer play times on iOS devices, which is quite significant.
Xbox Cloud Gaming is currently available on Xbox consoles, PCs, and mobile devices with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, which costs $14.99/month. On iPhone and iPads, these cloud-enabled games can be played with an Xbox Controller connected via Bluetooth, but there’s a growing list of games that support touch controls as well.
