Twitter’s revamped Blue subscription is now available on Android following its launch on iOS last fall (via TechCrunch). Just as on iOS, subscribing to Twitter Blue via the Android app costs $11/month while doing so on the web only costs $8/month. The price difference is a result of Twitter taking into account Apple and Google’s 30% cut on in-app purchases.

Earlier this week, Twitter also launched an annual Twitter Blue subscription on the web, which is currently available for $84 a year, which is $12 cheaper than the regular $8/month web pricing. After Twitter CEO Elon Musk said last fall that the company was facing a massive drop in ad revenue, Twitter now aims to make 50% of its money from subscriptions.

Twitter Blue is currently only available in the US, the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. Subscribers currently get a blue verified checkmark on their profile and early access to new features. Twitter is also working on giving Blue subscribers priority ranking in mentions and search, the ability to post longer videos, and a better Twitter experience with roughly 50% fewer ads.

Now that Twitter Blue is available on all platforms, Twitter is currently piloting Twitter Verification for Organizations, which was initially introduced as Twitter Blue for Business. By joining the early access program, organizations will get a gold checkmark and the ability to choose affiliated accounts on Twitter. These affiliated accounts will get a small badge of their parent company on their profile right next to their verified checkmark.

Twitter has implemented a lot of product changes since Elon Musk took over the company in October, and some of them aren’t exactly great. On all platforms, Twitter now shows an algorithmic “For You” feed by default, and the chronological “Latest” feed is now a click away. Last week, the company also blocked third-party Twitter clients without any warning, angering developers and power users who paid to have a better Twitter experience.
