Back at Build in the spring, Microsoft showed off Story Remix and it was easily one of the top features coming with the Fall Creators Update. As we now know, that feature is not expected to be released on October 17th but it will be coming soon to Redstone 4 builds.

Christ Pratley, the Corporate VP for Photos and Videos, which includes Story Remix, stated on Twitter today that the new features will be coming to the ‘Skip Ahead’ branch of the Insiders program.

While we don’t have an exact date as Skip Ahead builds are from the less stable RS4 branch and the entire OS can only ship if it passes a series of quality tests, at least we finally know the feature is coming soon. And seeing as Chris is the CVP of this division, he is the best person to know about when this feature will be released.

For those who don’t remember, if you go back and watch the Build presentation, the demo of Story Remix has the presenter add a fireball and explosion to a video clip. If the app proves to be as easy to use as Microsoft demonstrated in the spring, this could become a unique proposition for using Windows instead of macOS.
