Plex today announced two new features that it says will help users find and keep track of content across media streaming services.

“Keeping track of your favorite movies and shows across streaming services can be a struggle,” a Plex representative told me. “In fact, new research found that 60 percent of global consumers find the process of navigating multiple apps to be frustrating, and have spent about 600 million minutes collectively trying to figure out what to watch on their myriad of paid and free streaming services.”

To address these concerns, Plex—which also offers access to a library of over 50,000 free ad-supported movies, shows, and live TV—is introducing two new features:

Discovery. Plex helps you Find any movie or show across all of your paid and free streaming services: just search for a title in Plex, and if it’s available on a service to which you subscribe, you can then launch it directly from Plex.

Universal Watchlist. This lets you add titles from any service to the watchlist so you can keep track of the content you want to watch in the future.

“We have been saying for years that our goal was to create a one-stop-shop for all the entertainment that matters to you, and today we put a massive piece of that puzzle in place,” Plex CEO Keith Valory says. “With new streaming services, movies, and shows constantly coming available, it’s time to tame the media chaos and that’s what we aim to do with these new features. In short, we know it’s painful to find what to watch. We just want to get you there as quickly as possible.”
