Opera announced today that it has added its free VPN to its web browser on iPhone. This feature is already available in Opera for Windows, Mac, Linux, and Android.

“Whether you’re at home or logged into a public network, your web traffic and browsing history is accessible, and vulnerable,” Opera’s Patrick Curtin writes in the announcement post. “Hackers and data thieves can intercept your sensitive information – including passwords, credit card numbers, and personal details – as it travels through unsecured networks or while stored on your device. Even your own Internet Service Provider (ISP) can track and monitor your online activity, compromising your privacy.”

Opera’s free VPN ensures that all traffic is encrypted and that your IP address is private. And it doesn’t collect any personal data or information related to your browsing history or originating network address. The free version on iPhone protects all traffic on the device (on other devices, it only protects traffic that occurs in Opera), and there is no data or bandwidth cap. You can upgrade to VPN Pro to protect all of the traffic on up to 6 devices, receive access to more and more specific virtual locations and more servers, use 2FA for security, and more. VPN Pro costs $3.99 per month.
