New Windows 11 Insider Builds Are Available on the Beta Channel
Microsoft has released today two new Windows 11 Insider builds for Beta Channel testers. The build 22631.1900 is headed to the group of Insiders receiving new features, and there are two minor changes in this flight.
Windows 11 can now detect if users aren’t interacting with notifications toasts for specific apps, and in that case the OS will suggest to turn them off. If the toast banners will stop showing up on the desktop, they will still remain visible in the notification center. As with many other new features, these suggestions to turn off toast banners will only appear for a subset of Insiders.
However, the second change in this build is available for all testers: Wi-Fi hotspots that support the Passpoint protocol that simplifies network access now provide enhanced connection performance. Moreover, these networks will also display a URL in Quick Settings to provide information about the venue or event.
Microsoft didn’t list any changes for the build 22621.1900 that’s headed to the second group of Insiders with new features turned off by default. If you’re in that group, you can still check for updates and choose to install the build 22631.1900 and enjoy new features.
Yesterday, Microsoft also released the build 23481 for Dev Channel Insiders. This new build introduced a big change for Windows Ink as Insiders can now use a pen to handwrite anywhere they can type in Windows. Microsoft said at its Build conference last month that its new Windows Copilot would enter public testing in June, but it’s still nowhere to be seen.
