PC peripheral maker Kensington today announced a $300 dock for Surface Pro that looks an awful lot like Surface Studio.

“The SD7000 Dual 4K Surface Pro Docking Station and optional Lock Module [is] the ultimate docking solution for Surface Pro,” The Kensington announcement notes. It “offers users best-in-class connectivity, performance, and design to support the desktop of the future.”

As you can see from the shot, the dock provides a Surface Studio-like look and feel, plus it works a bit like that bigger device by allowing the user to adjust the Surface Pro and display for viewing or writing.

It supports two 4K external monitors, wired networking, and USB expansion, Kensington says. And it is built on Microsoft’s proprietary Surface Connect technology for seamless syncing and charging. This is still relatively rare for some reason.

What’s not clear is when this dock will be released to the public. I would imagine by the fall.
