Apple stops selling the 21.5in Intel iMac

Posted November 1, 2021 | Mac

Apple introduced the 24in iMac with M1 chip back in April 2021, but it kept on selling the entry-level 21.5in iMac as an option for those who wanted an iMac with an Intel processor and the collection of ports that models offered.

However, the company has now stopped selling that Mac. At some point on Friday 29 October 2021 Apple removed the 21.5in iMac from its online store.

Apple has not commented on the removal.

The removal of the 21.5in Intel iMac from sale comes just over six months after Apple’s 24in iMac with the M1 chip was launched.

Apple is still selling the 27in Intel-powered iMac here. That model is rumored to get a new design and Apple Silicon sometime during the first half of 2022. Read: 30in iMac 2022: Expect to see M1 Max and Pro in the bigger iMac.

If you wish to purchase a 21.5in iMac you may still find one on sale at a third-party reseller.
