Samsung’s new Night Mode update was rolled out to Galaxy S9 and S9+ in many parts of the world, but US carriers aren’t quick to push out the improvements. Two months after Samsung rolled out the Night Mode update to some Galaxy S9 and S9+ units, Verizon has decided to make the new feature available to its customers as well.Verizon has already confirmed the Galaxy S9 and S9+ are getting new updates right now, but it doesn’t mention anything about the manual Night Mode. However, many users claim they’re seeing the new camera feature after the update, Droid-life reports.

Besides the July security patch and the new Night Mode, the update should also contain the QR Code scanner for Wi-Fi sharing, which lets users scan QR codes without having to open Bixby Vision or Google Lens.

The manual Night Mode replaces the Bright Night scene optimizer, which doesn’t offer great results when taking photos in low-light conditions. The dedicated night mode is also being rolled out to Galaxy S10 series and Note 9, so if you own one of Samsung’s flagships, you should certainly get the new camera function if you hadn’t already.
